Last month we hosted a fabulous FAM trip to Morocco with our partner, Lumi Morocco, who did an outstanding job of planning our trip and allowing advisors to experience Morocco in a way that was very personal, very emotive, and with an element of surprise thrown in for good luck!
For example — one day we were doing a site inspection of the Oberoi Marrakech, and when we entered one of the suites we were surprised and delighted to discover a dance instructor! She had all the supplies for us such as shimmy scarves — those scarves with the coins attached that are fastened around the hips and used in belly dancing. She proceeded to lead us through a very fun belly dancing class!
On another day, we took a walk through the souk in Marrakesh and suddenly came upon some signs, similar to license plates, that had Passages of Distinction on one side and each of the represented travel agencies from our guests. It was such an unexpected and thoughtful touch, and all of the advisors loved them! We took pictures with the signs, and each advisor got to take theirs home as a special memento from the trip, along with the beautiful personalized baskets we each discovered on our first day, with our names on them in Arabic.
Lumi Morocco also provided us a beautiful hardcover portfolio of the trip itinerary, complete with all the activities scheduled for each day along with pictures of the hotels and the staff.
These are a few of the unexpected surprises and personal touches that stood out, and that demonstrate the level of high-touch service that Lumi extends to every guest.
One of my personal surprises in the experience was that I found Morocco to be much more open politically and religiously than I had thought, and it felt extremely safe.
All in all, it was a delightful trip and our advisors had such a fabulous time!
