Just Back: Discovering Croatia with our Luxury DMC Partner, AndAdventure

I recently had the incredible opportunity to lead a FAM trip to Croatia with the fantastic team at the award-winning AndAdventure Croatia, led by the warm, knowledgeable, and endlessly energetic Vese Huljic. From dramatic coastlines to charming medieval towns, this journey was a beautiful blend of adventure, culture, cuisine, and connection.
Our first day began in Split, where ancient history and modern life blend seamlessly. At the heart of it all is Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive Roman ruins in the world. But what makes Split truly unique is that this “palace” isn’t just a relic—it’s alive. Locals still live, work, and dine within its ancient walls. Vese arranged a private tour for us, during which we were able to explore hidden courtyards, centuries-old cellars, and narrow alleyways that brought the city’s history to life.
The next day, we went inland to visit Krka National Park, a lush oasis famous for its cascading waterfalls and emerald pools. We walked through shaded trails, learned about the park’s history with our private guide, and soaked in the serene natural beauty. It’s an ideal day trip for nature enthusiasts who want a taste of Croatia’s nature before heading to the coast.
Next, we explored Šibenik, a hidden gem that feels like a well-kept secret. With its stone alleys, vibrant café culture, and UNESCO-listed St. James Cathedral, Šibenik is an authentic and uncrowded destination that will soon be on everyone’s list when visiting Croatia.
On our third day, we had planned to take a private boat to Hvar, but the weather did not cooperate, so we took the public ferry instead. In a few hours, we were disembarking on Hvar. Vese was born and raised in Hvar, so we were able to experience the quieter side, starting with a visit to a 200-year-old family-owned farm and a traditional lunch. Following lunch, we experienced a private tour of olive oil making, and we finished the afternoon by tasting local Croatian wine. Our evening was spent dining at the sublime Masalina resort.
We wrapped up in Dubrovnik, the iconic “Pearl of the Adriatic.” While the old city can get crowded, Vese arranged a private tour, allowing us to experience it differently by visiting secret viewpoints and local spots. The grand finale was a private boat ride around the jaw-dropping walled city just before sunset.
Traveling with Vese and the AndAdventure team wasn’t just about seeing Croatia—it was about feeling it. Their passion for authentic experiences, love for their homeland, and deep community connections made every moment meaningful.
