Our key takeaways from the 2026 Indagare Summit, from Regional Sales Manager Susanne Miller.
Our Regional Sales Manager, Susanne Miller, recently attended and presented at the Indagre Summit and shares her takeaways here.
I thought the Indagare Summit was a great experience and definitely worthwhile. Over the two days, I had 60 one-on-one meetings and met over 90 people, which was an amazing opportunity for me to meet so many advisors and introduce them to Passages of Distinction and our partners.
I really liked the format of the Summit. The six-minute meetings went very quickly, but I actually thought they worked really well. It gave me enough time to introduce myself, talk about Passages of Distinction and highlight some of our partners without overwhelming anyone with too much information. I was also able to get a sense pretty quickly of what each advisor was interested in and focus the conversation on the partners I thought would resonate most with them.
Being so new to my role, this was especially helpful for me. Having the opportunity to meet so many advisors face-to-face in such a short amount of time was invaluable. I was able to make a lot of new connections while also reconnecting with people I already knew from the industry. It was also really helpful for me to start putting faces to names and building relationships with advisors I will hopefully continue working with going forward.
There was a lot of interest in our portfolio overall, but Pemako Bhutan and Chenot Palace Weggis definitely stood out. People were very interested in both and asked a lot of questions. Bhutan in general seemed to spark a lot of conversation. Eliza Harris, COO of Indagare, told me that she had stayed at Pemako Punakha and, in her opinion, it is the nicest hotel in Bhutan. I thought that was such a great endorsement to hear, especially coming from someone who has experienced the property firsthand. St. Nicolas Bay also got a great response and seemed to really resonate with people.
It was interesting to see firsthand which properties immediately grabbed someone’s attention and which ones led to more questions and conversation. I also found it helpful from a sales perspective because every meeting was a little different. Some advisors already knew certain properties, while others were being introduced to them for the first time. That gave me a better sense of where there may be opportunities for us to provide more information, education and future trainings.
It was also a good reminder of how important it is to keep these conversations personal rather than trying to give the exact same presentation to everyone. With only six minutes, I found that having a conversation and figuring out what interested the person sitting across from me was much more effective than trying to get through everything about every partner.
The cocktail party and dinner the first night was another highlight for me. After a full day of quick meetings, it was nice to have a more relaxed setting where we could continue conversations and actually spend more time getting to know everyone. It was a lot of fun, and I thought that part of the event was just as valuable because the conversations happened much more naturally. The evening included cocktails, dinner and mingling at Rule of Thirds.
I also enjoyed the other parts of the program and having opportunities throughout the two days to interact with people outside of the scheduled meetings. Between breakfast, lunch, the evening event and the departure happy hour, there were plenty of opportunities to continue conversations and connect with people in a less structured setting.
My next step is definitely the follow-up. I have requested the contact information for everyone I met, and once I receive it, I plan to reach out and thank them for their time. I also think there are some great opportunities for more in-depth conversations and possibly trainings with advisors who want to learn more.
I think the Summit was also helpful in giving us a better idea of what is catching advisors’ attention right now. Seeing the response to Pemako Bhutan, Chenot Palace and St. Nicolas Bay was especially helpful, and I think we can use some of that feedback as we continue our outreach and marketing.
Overall, I would definitely participate in the Indagare Summit again. I liked the format, loved meeting everyone and thought it was a very productive two days. For me personally, especially being new to this role, it was a great way to get in front of a large number of advisors, start building those relationships and become more comfortable talking about our portfolio and representing Passages of Distinction.
