What is W.A.T.C.H?

W.A.T.C.H is an endeavor to focus on every aspect of the Indian forests including wildlife and people, their crafts and traditions, their day to day living, conservation perspectives both traditional, sustaining and inclusive; besides everything aligned with and inspired by nature and the jungles around them.

What was the inspiration behind W.A.T.C.H?

W.A.T.C.H was created based on a journey taken by the Managing Director of Travel Scope Mohan Narayanaswamy in the Indian forests and in the large preserves of nature ferociously guarded by our friends at their private homes and estates.  It was as much an adventure out as a journey within, driving to remote locations, scaling high mountain passes, seeking people in harmony with their surroundings and animals of the wild around them.

How W.A.T.C.H evolved to what is it today?

A slow evolving labor of discovery, W.A.T.C.H has taken its time to unfold simply because, Travel Scopes team took time behind the four-by-four, to discover, assimilate and fall in love with nature. Through their travels, they have realized that to love the wild one has to love the outdoors and have the infinite ability to wait and WATCH. What then unfurls are amazing moments of courage and survival and nature in glorious presentation!

What is the meaning of W.A.T.C.H?

W.A.T.C.H. is supporting a conservation action, initiative by WWF India to provide renewable and non-polluting solar lighting to village homes in the Sunderbans delta. This initiative by WWF India has illuminated lives of the communities in the Sunderbans and helps them to keep a WATCH on the predators such as Tigers. According to WWF India this innovative method helps in preventing their movement into villages and tackle human-animal conflict.

As we set out on this path to explore and discover India’s beautiful landscape, wildlife, people and support these initiatives, we invite you to join us on these journeys and become part of W.A.T.C.H. and a community of travelers that we aim to create and build along the way.
